What Happened at Bluestar this Summer?

It’s been a busy few months behind the scenes at Bluestar, and there’s a lot to shout about. There have been new roles and regional partnerships, as well as some amazing personal milestones. Let’s take a look at what’s been going on so far this summer.

A Stronger Voice for Local Business at Hampshire Chamber of Commerce

We’re now proud Lead Members of the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce. For us, this is a commitment that we’re really proud to make.

Being part of the Chamber means access to some brilliant tools and opportunities like business networking, economic insight, training events, and more. More importantly, though, it gives us a louder voice to support other businesses and make the local economy more robust. As Lead Members, we’re able to contribute to the conversations shaping the future of the region.

It’s a role we’re taking seriously.

Hampshire’s business community is full of ambition. We’re here to back it, build connections, and champion fresh ideas. As finance providers, we’re all about supporting growth and helping businesses and organisations unlock funding options. We’re ready to make this partnership count.

Ben’s Promotion to Associate Director, Head of Sales

Earlier this summer, Ben Matthews took on a new role as Associate Director, Head of Sales. He’s been with us for 11 years, shaping how we serve clients as well as how we work as a team. Throughout that time, Ben’s helped drive consistency, culture, and results. Now, as Head of Sales, he’s bringing that same clarity to how we grow and support others across the business.

It’s always rewarding to promote from within, and it’s even better when it’s someone who’s shown such long-term commitment. Ben’s journey is a really great reminder of what happens when people stick with something, learn every day, and help others win too.

Jake’s Flying Start to Year Two

Success doesn’t fall into your lap in this industry. You’ve got to show resilience, hard work, and a willingness to keep pushing, even when it’s tough. Jake gets that, and it’s showing.

He’s just kicked off his second year with us, and already he’s hit really impressive numbers. That doesn’t happen by accident. He spent his first year building a strong base, absorbing everything he could, and fine-tuning how he works.

Jake’s got the kind of self-drive that’s infectious.

He’s focused, positive, and sharp, and because he’s always prepared to do the legwork, the results are following. It’s been brilliant to see him grow in confidence, and we really are so excited to see where he takes things from here.

Investec Golf Day Highlights

Sometimes, it’s good to swap the desk for the fairway, especially with the weather we’ve had this summer.

We were lucky enough to join this year’s Investec Golf Day at the Forest of Arden, where 72 brokers teed off on the championship course for a competitive (if somewhat wind-swept) round.

It was the perfect mix of business and sport. The lakes made things interesting, the breeze kept us honest, and the post-game BBQ definitely hit the spot. The whole day was expertly run, too. It gave everyone a great chance to reconnect, catch up, and share what’s new.

Big thanks to the whole team for pulling it together. It’s these kinds of events that remind us how strong the broker network really is and how much our team at Bluestar values being a part of it.

More to Come

We’re always moving and are constantly growing the team, supporting new regions, or adapting to what businesses need next. We like to stay hands-on, ready to help and open to ideas.

In the months ahead, we’ll be building on everything mentioned here. That means doubling down on our local presence in Hampshire, finding new ways to connect and collaborate, and continuing to grow a team that’s sharp, switched-on and up for the challenge.

As always, if you want to talk finance, plans or possibilities, we’re never far away.
